HSBC- The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) has managed USD 1.3 billion to finance the Bangladesh Chemical Indus-tries Corporation (BCIC) for setting Ghorasal Polash Urea Fertilizer Project (GPUFP); China will be signing agreements by June 2020 to provide $2.13 billion in loans for two more projects, which involves $ 1.15 billion over the construction of the Dhaka-Ashulia elevated express  way while the other $970 million for strengthening the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh’s power grid network; The first edition of Dhaka Global Dialogue was held from 11th to 13th November 2019. More than 150 delegates from 50 countries participated in the conference to discuss some of the most vital global imperatives in the context of the Indo-Pacific region; and Bangladesh has become the second-fastest growing economy in South Asia after Bhutan as per the report released by World Bank on
“South Asia Economic Focus, Making (DE) Centralization Work”.

• The Head of Chambers presented a paper on Trust Laws at the Asia Pacific Trust Law Conference held at the Melbourne University, Australia in December, 2019.
• The Head of Chambers and another senior associate attended annual lawyers gathering at Tokyo in October, 2019.

LEGAL COUNSEL IS NOW GREEN
Legal Counsel believes in being “Green” and hence adopted an
“Environmental Policy” by signing a petition in order to reduce the carbon footprints as part of its responsibility. Legal Counsel has also substantially reduced the use of paper and uses recyclable papers for carrying out regular work. “Legal Counsel” takes pride in being the first “Green Law Chambers” in Bangladesh.
